Method: First, boil the moong Dal in Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, when mustard seeds splutter, add cumin seeds, chopped onions, curry leaves, turmeric powder, chopped garlic, salt.   11. Make ready 2.1 /2 cup water

Moong Dal Tadka is a simple Indian dal made with split petite yellow lentils. Tempered with mustard, cumin, garlic & curry leaves this dal is also vegan! Moong dal reminds me of my time in Scotland. My friend Deepa used to make the best the moong dal, so Deepa if you are reading this I miss you.

Steps to make Bottle Gourd Curry with Moong Dal:
  1. Wash & soak moong dal in water for 10mint.Wash,peel & chopped bottle guard in medium size pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pan &then add kalonji(nigella)seeds.
  3. As soon as the seeds starts crackling add green chillies,ginger(chopped).b
  4. Now add the soaked moong dal, bottle guard pieces,salt, turmeric powder, sugar.
  5. Stir for few seconds & then add 1/2 cup water & cover with a lid.
  6. Cook on slow flame,cook till become soft.
  7. Cook for another 5 mint.Add chopped coriander.
  8. Serve with hot rice,phulkas & parathas.

Add in washed moong dal and cover it with water. Season with salt and mix well. Heat oil and crackle mustard and curry leaves. Pour this over the curry and mix well. Garnish Moong Dal Vadi Curry with coriander leaves and serve it with roti, rice or pulao along with a tsp of butter.
