  1. Wash dal and rice together add 4 cups water and pressure cook till dal is soft and mushy 6 to 8 whistles
  2. Heat oil in a kadai add cumin seeds once they splutter well add ginger garlic and green chilli sautey few seconds
  3. Then add chopped onions cook until soft and light golden then add red chilli,salt and turmeric saute few seconds add tomatoes
  4. Cook until tomatoes are soft and oil comes out now add the cooked dal rice mix well adjust water if too thick boil well
  5. Simmer 3 to 4 minutes then add chopped coriander leaves and a tbsp desi ghee mix well
